The City of Sunlight (2024)

The story takes place between two generations of three families in contemporary Lhasa. Thubeng, an opera performer who has dedicated his life to the Tibetan opera troupe, suffered blows one after another: his eldest son, Suo Lang, resigned from public office and started a business without his back, and he was heavily in debt; his youngest son Ta Shi said he did not want to be a doctor and wanted to sing Tibetan opera; his eldest daughter Qu Zong also faced love difficulties. Tibetan doctor Ten Zin plans to go to the mainland to enjoy his retirement life with his wife, Qiao Yan Ru, who is about to retire. Unexpectedly, his wife filed for divorce, and his daughter Da Zhen, who returned to Tibet for business, faced dual pressures from family and career. Jiu Mei, an equestrian team member who is about to retire, is faced with the final choice of her career as an athlete. Her younger sister Gesang sneaks away from the pastoral area to Lhasa and insists on applying to become a pilot.
